Ria was bought in summer 2017 from a riding stable that was closing down. She had really only been used for hacking before and had a long holiday in the field before getting used to her new role at ERDA.

Ria is a 15hh and is black cob mare born in 2003. She does suffer from seasonal allergies so we are very careful about grooming her. One of the nicest things about grooming Ria is that she will lift each foot for you to pick out. Not all our horses are quite so accommodating! She is very popular with our young riders as she is so pretty and gentle.

She has a lovely long stride when she walks out, and a smooth trot. Like Briony, very little about RDA games or tasks fazes her, she is generally friendly, calm and quiet. Given her unflappable nature, she was the perfect choice for one of our independent riders to hack out on the Epsom RDA fun ride in 2019.
