The Stables:

These are some of our stables where the horses are kept while they are being used for riding lessons. They are groomed, tacked up and fed in their stables. Each horse/pony has its own designated stable.

The yard:

This is where our helpers assist our riders onto their horses. The horses are formed into a line and wait in turn for their rider. The horses have a helper to lead them up to the mounting block.

The yard mounting block:

This is where the disabled riders are assisted onto their horse. The mounting block has a long ramp to provide easy access for our riders and safety rails.

The mount block has two sides so that helpers can stand either side as the riders mounts the horse. This is to provide riders with extra assistance and also for maximum safety and comfort.

The outdoor sand school:

This is our outdoor sand riding school. A soft sand surface provides an excellent place for riders to learn the skills of horse riding and gain confidence. There are fun, clourfull letters around the edge to assist riders with their changes of rein and turns.

The school is in use throughout the summer and on dry winter days.

The sand school looks out over the surrounding fields and trees and is a pleasure to ride in.

The indoor school:

Our large indoor school is perfect for rainy or cold days. The specially designed surface is excellent for our riders to gain their confidence and improve their skills.

We have all sorts of props and equipment to make riding fun and aid learning. We have a lovely special surface by Martin Collins and it doesnt require watering. its a great surface for games . Trotting poles are provided and even small jumps for our more experienced riders. As in the sand school we have letters with colourful illustrations around the edge of the school to help with learning.

We also have two mirrors for riders to see themeslves and help correct their position

The fields:

This is where our horses live when they are not in use. .

You can see the brown wooden shelters built to give them protection from the rain and cold weather.

BACK TO TOP  In good weather we hack out with our riders and helpers. We have the use of these fields. It nice for our riders to have a change of scenery from the school. The horses also enjoy a good walk out.

We have several fields at Epsom RDA. We rotate which ones are in use so that the grass has a chance to grow.

We use to cut the grass in our hay making field once a year for hay. But we now buy hay. Hay gives our horses and ponies a good supply for the cold winter months.
